Sunday school is the place to teach the vital importance of the Orthodox Faith to our children and teens. Sunday school remains one of our church's most powerful ways to affirm our faith as the foundation for living the Orthodox Christian life. Our Sunday school program uses the official curriculum of the Indian Orthodox Church. It is structured in such a way that children who graduate will have a basic understanding of the Holy Bible, the faith and beliefs of the Orthodox Church and the history of our church in the context of history of Christianity.
"Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." - St. Mathew 19:14
In addition the children are also exposed to the hymns of the Holy Eucharist and important prayers. We hold Classes every Sunday, after the Holy Qurbana Service. The text books and workbooks prepared for the American Diocese are used as the class materials. Our Sunday school consists of Pre-K through 12th grade. The school year starts in September and extends to May.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” - Proverbs 22:6
The Sunday School follows the curriculum approved by the Sunday School Association of the Indian Orthodox Church.

Each year Sunday holds the OVBS during the summer and participates in the Sunday school competitions at various levels. God's grace, the guidance from our Vicar, the support of the parents and teachers, helps our Sunday school become more successful and reach new heights each year as we continue to grow.
This ministry provides opportunities for our young people (particularly, Sunday school children) to grow closer to Christ and His Church in a fun-filled learning environment. OVBS focuses on deepening the knowledge and experience of the Orthodox faithful and embraces the teachings and traditions of Christianity: Scripture, saints, feasts, prayers, worship and music. Also, the curriculum will attempt to teach and engage participants in the following areas: classroom lessons & discussions, memory verses (from Bible and/or parts of Orthodox tradition – especially prayers), songs/hymns (liturgical & non-liturgical), Orthodox worship/prayer, activities, arts & crafts, recreation, and more.
